Wars and Rumors of Wars

  Akbar Ahmed
(first appointed ambassador in 1966)

A Pakistani Muslim diplomat, author, anthropologist, and scholar, Ahmed is considered one of the foremost scholars of contemporary Islam. His interfaith dialogues with Judea Pearl, an Israeli American Jew and father of slain Wall Street Journal reporter, Daniel Pearl, may, however, be his greatest accomplishment. These conversations challenge all audiences to go beyond religious and racial hostility to confront their deepest differences in respectful dialogue.
